Cherwell Software, which provides digital consultancy services in 40 countries, today officially opens its European research and development centre in Dundee One where it is initially employing 16 staff with the likelihood of more to come.
The centre is the first international satellite to the company’s technology team in Colorado Springs and will be a focal point for Cherwell’s product innovation.
Steve Rodda, chief product officer said: “Our business is expanding rapidly across the globe and experiencing dramatic growth in Europe and Asia. As a company, we’re investing 23% of revenue in R&D.”
Cherwell Software operates in a market which is expected to be worth $30 billion by 2020. In the last two years the company has received $220 million from investment firm KKR as part of it Next Generation Technology Fund.
Shona Robison, Dundee City East MSP, said Dundee’s tech sector is worth £200m. “This is another step in the transformation of the waterfront as a European hub of industry and tourism,” she said.
